Deactivated Australian Bren Gun MK 1 Lithgow made 1943

Deactivated Australian Bren Gun MK 1 Lithgow made 1943

|||SOLD||| Deactivated Australian Bren Gun MK 1 Lithgow made 1943 dated. This is the famous Bren Gun, based on a Czech design and introduced in 1937 to the British Army, where it continued in service right up to the Gulf War in 1991, although by then it had been reworked to fire the Nato 7.62mm round rather than the rimmed .303 round of WW2. This particular example is a Mk1 in very good condition, made at the Lithgow factory, NSW, Australia. Very good original woodwork and steel, retaining almost all its original finish, this Mk1 is dated 1943 and is Australian inspection stamped in various places. Fitted with correct 'hump-back' buttstock, this is a super example of an Australian-issued GPMG. Able to be cocked and dry-fired, and a degree of field stripping with all matching numbers and correct deactivation certificate. A classic light machine gun of WW2. |||SOLD|||
