This is the NATO issue G3 battle rifle developed in the 1950s by the German armament manufacturer Heckler & Koch GmbH in partnership with the Spanish state-owned design and development agency CETME. Chambered for the standard Nato round, 7.62 x 54mm, the G3 was based on a prototype assault rifle being developed by Mauser at the end of WW2. It came into service in 1959 and continued up till the mid-1990s, seeing action in many conflicts throughout the world. This particular example is a latest spec deactivation in very good condition, and can be field stripped, with the butt, forestock, pistol grip and trigger group removable. Complete with leather sling. This example is 1978 dated. on the magazine housing, this weapon was reputedly used in rhodesian bush war due to the camo scheme painted, so comes with a bit of history. Dispite having the action welded up, this deact can still provide a lot of interest as shown by the pictures, and requires no tools to strip.
